           Sonny Michael Chohan is a professional actor, writer, director, stand-up comic, workshop leader and voiceover artist based in the heart of Derby. Born on July 1st 1987, Sonny’s obsession with performing began at the tender age of four when he would improvise and impersonate various celebrities for family entertainment. After leaving high school in 2003, Sonny decided to study a BTEC National in Performing Arts at Derby College, where he played the lead in every college production for three years running and performed Commedia Dell’arte as well as a breakdancing showcase at the University of Sousse, Tunisia.

           At twenty-one, Sonny landed himself the lead role in Casteaway Arts’ sell-out play, The Fifth Cup. In this production, he portrayed the character of a 15-year old boy named Amrit Singh, a victim of caste discrimination. His unique & challenging performance’s in Windsor, Birmingham, Leicester and Southall not only earned him a standing ovation but also proved his various talents and versatility. In 2009, Sonny completed his training at the University of Wolverhampton with a BA Hons in Dramatic Arts and has since become a freelance actor, writer and director.

           Since his graduation, Sonny has co-written, co-directed and starred in a mockumentry based on the Adult Entertainment business and is currently writing the sequel as well as a TV pilot for a Brit-Asian sitcom, a comedy sketch show and an online drama. Alongside his numerous skills, passion for drama, diverse background and dedication, Sonny Michael Chohan is not just ‘another Brit-Asian with a stardom dream’ but a unique talent with a great deal to offer.
